Announcing Green Flags: a night for climate-minded Londoners to meet each other
I’ve spent five years getting people into pubs to talk about climate, and I’ve noticed something.
People turn up for the conversation, but they stay because of who they meet. Over the years we’ve heard repeatedly stories of attendees of people becoming good friends and partners as a result of meeting by chance at People Planet Pint.
So we’re trying something new!
On 25 November, we’re launching Green Flags in London. It’s a singles for people who care about the planet, but would love to meet someone who shares that feeling with a bit more intention than just the pub.
I know a lot of you have full diaries: work, the gym, the commute, plans booked weeks ahead. There’s rarely a gap for the one thing you can’t schedule, which is bumping into someone who gets it.
So we’re making one.
Here’s what to expect:
- A warm, independent pub and a room of optimistic, like-minded people
- Hosts to welcome you in and introduce you, if you’d like that
- Playful prompt cards to break the ice
- Your first drink on us
- Come solo, or bring a mate. You don’t have to be single to be a great wing-person
No apps or speed-dating bell. It isn’t a networking event or a climate lecture, and nobody’s going to judge your last holiday flight.
One thing is different from our usual meetups. Green Flags is a ticketed event, with Early Bird tickets from £15. Our regular meetups stay free, and that isn’t changing.
Worst case, you get a lovely night and a few good conversations – best case, you meet someone special!
Early Bird tickets are here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2003832901149/
If you know someone who’d love this, send it their way!
